Obama puzzled over reaction to Iraq comments
The Sydney News.Net Saturday 5th July, 2008
US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been puzzled as to why his comments on Iraq caused such a sharp response in the US.
After his statement during the week that he might "refine" his timetable for withdrawing US combat troops, he spoke to reporters on Saturday to say his plan to end the Iraq war was unchanged.
He said: "For me to say that I'm going to refine my policies I don't think in any way is inconsistent with prior statements and doesn't change my strategic view that this war has to end and that I'm going to end it as president."
"I will call my joint chiefs of staff in and give them a new assignment and that is to end the war," he said.
Obama said on Wednesday he might refine his plan to bring combat troops home within 16 months of taking office if conditions on the ground changed.
The comment drew sharp criticism, especially from Republicans who said he had started to vacillate on Iraq.

That denotes the candidate is unexperience or does not know what he is talking about military situations. He needs to be in boot camp and experience how the military operate.A very scary he might be able to make a sound desicion for the country welfare.Running the USA is not a cool thing.it will take a grave responsibility and sound command to protect the nations interest.Holding a bom box and cell phone in his ears and every thing is cool man cool is not enough.
